Dedicated Internet Access

Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) simply means an Internet Connection in all its various sizes and shapes.  The lowest common denominator in DIA is a DSL line for Internet access.  The step up size (greater bandwidth) is a data T1 line which is a guaranteed 1.5MB internet connection.  From there users can "bond" data T1 lines from 2 T1's up to 6 T1's in some instances.  The next step up is a DS3 connection which is a large 45MB connection for larger businesses with many users accessing the internet or data intensive uses such as transmitting large amounts of video or graphics. There are also Ethernet DIA connections from the 5MB to 1000MB bandwidth, but these connections are more specific to a physical location than are the more common DIA connections mentioned previously.  Another popluar DIA connection is satellite data connections which are similar in bandwidth to DSL and T1 connections, but they can be provided to customers in locations virtually anywhere without restriction.
