DROID (Android) smartphones storm global market
Provider: : T-Mobile
Android phones (or DROID's as they have been dubbed ) operating on the Google Android O/S are arriving in a big way in the Smartphone market worldwide. Major announcements in the USA by T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T for devices from HTC and Motorola have created a huge stir in the wireless industry. Lines formed at Verizon stores this week for their new handset, and T-Mobile users are anxiously awaiting new smart devices to take advantage of the 21 MBPS HSDPA (yes, 21MB's!!! - as in 13 T1's capacity) network upgrade underway at T-Mobile. The 21MB capacity is already up and runing in the Philadelphia market and T-Mobile expects rapid expansion because they are doing the upgrades on their existing HSDPA network instead of waiting to implement a 4G LTE network like their competitors. This is extremely good news for T-Mobile users in the USA because it will put them on the faster cellular data network in the nation a year or two ahead of alternatives. Visit the T-Mobile section of the AB&T Partner portal to learn more about Android smartphones and high speed data services from T-Mobile.
